GetLocalEggs.com is a directory of local egg sellers, operated by GetLocalEggs.com ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, email us.

What GetLocalEggs.com is, and isn't

We list farms and backyard flocks that sell eggs, show what they say they have, and pass pickup requests between buyers and farms. We are not a party to any sale. We don't sell eggs, handle eggs, take payment for eggs, or arrange or guarantee pickup or delivery. Each farm sets its own prices, quantities and terms, and is responsible for what it sells.

A farm's permit status is what the farm tells us. We don't inspect farms or verify their claims. See the disclaimer.

Buyers

• Searching and sending requests is free. We never charge buyers.
• A request is not a purchase. The farm may accept or decline it.
• When a farm accepts, you get its pickup address for that pickup. Use it only to collect your order.
• You pay the farm directly. Any question about the eggs, the price or a refund is between you and the farm.

Farms

• You must be 18 or older and give accurate information about your farm, including your permit status.
• You are responsible for following the laws that apply to your sales, including food safety, labeling and any permit your state requires.
• You keep ownership of what you post. You let us display it on the site and in search and share previews so buyers can find you.
• Your farm's address on the site (its username) is yours for as long as the account exists and is never given to anyone else, even after the account is deleted.
• Keep your login to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

The farm subscription

A farm's listing costs $9 a month or $90 a year, in U.S. dollars, plus any tax that applies. New farms start with a 30-day free trial, and a card is required to start it. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

When the trial ends, your subscription starts and renews automatically at the start of each month or year until you cancel. If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

The subscription pays for your listing in the directory and nothing else. If it lapses, your farm leaves search and its public page goes dark. You can still log in, see your records and export your ledger.

Cancellation and refunds

• Cancel any time from your account, or by emailing flipvollc@gmail.com. There is no cancellation fee.
• Cancel during the free trial and you are not charged.
• After you cancel, you won't be charged again. Your listing stays up until the end of the month or year you've paid for, then leaves the directory.
• No partial refunds. We don't refund the unused part of a month or year when you switch plans or cancel early. The one exception: if we close your paid account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part (see fair use).
• Charged by mistake? If you were charged after cancelling, charged twice, or charged in error, email us within 60 days and we'll refund the charge.
• Your records stay yours. Cancelling never locks you out of your ledger. You can export it at any time.

Buyers pay nothing to GetLocalEggs.com, so there is nothing for us to refund to a buyer. Refunds for eggs are between the buyer and the farm.

Fair use

Don't post anything false, unlawful or abusive, send spam through the request or contact forms, scrape the directory, or try to find a farm's private address other than through an accepted request. We may remove content or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we'll refund the unused part of the period.

No warranty, limited liability

The site is provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available or that listings are accurate or current. To the extent the law allows, GetLocalEggs.com is not liable for any indirect or incidental loss arising from your use of the site or from any dealing between a buyer and a farm, and our total liability to a farm is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and we'll email farms about any change that affects their subscription.
