How do I pay?
You pay the farm directly, in person, when you pick up. Cash or whatever you and the farm agree on. GetLocalEggs.com never takes a payment for eggs and never adds a fee.
Does it cost anything to use?
No. Searching and sending requests are free for buyers.
Why can't I see the farm's address?
Many of these farms are someone's home. Listings show the town and a rough spot on the map. When the farm accepts your request, your request's status page shows the pickup address and the day.
How do I ask for eggs?
Open a farm's page. If it has eggs today, fill in how many dozen you want and your name and email. The farm gets an email, and so do you. You hear back by email when it accepts or declines.
Do farms deliver?
Some do, and their listing says so, with how far they go. Tick "Delivers to me" on the search to see only those. Delivery is between you and the farm. We don't arrange or guarantee it.
What do "Exempt seller" and "Permitted farm" mean?
In Florida, a farm selling fewer than 30 dozen eggs a week straight to the people who eat them is not an egg dealer under state law. Some small farms also hold the state's Limited Poultry & Egg Farm permit. Both are legitimate ways to sell eggs. Each farm tells us which applies to it, and "Permit on file" means the farm has uploaded its permit. We don't inspect farms; see the disclaimer and the egg laws, in plain words.

What does a listing cost?
$9 a month or $90 a year, after a 30-day free trial. Cancel any time. The details are on the for farms page and in the cancellation and refund policy.
Do you take a cut of my sales?
No. Buyers pay you directly and we never see that money.
Do I need a permit?
Not to be listed. In Florida, a farm selling fewer than 30 dozen a week direct to consumers is not an egg dealer and needs no dealer permit. The state's Limited Poultry & Egg Farm permit ($110/yr, up to 3,000 hens, in-state only, at a roadside stand, a farmers market or by delivery, no mail order or wholesale) covers small farms under that line. Selling 30 dozen or more a week takes a full dealer permit. You pick your status on your farm's page, and both show with the same kind of badge. The egg laws page has the details and links, and your state's agriculture department has the final word.
Is my home address public?
No. Your listing shows your town and a rough map pin. The exact pickup address goes only to a buyer whose request you accept, and only until that pickup day is over.
How long does the morning update take?
One tap on a normal day. "Same as yesterday" puts yesterday's list back up for today. When a type runs out, mark it sold out.
What happens to my books if I cancel?
Your listing leaves the directory at the end of the period you paid for. You can still log in, see your records and export your ledger as a CSV.
