GetLocalEggs.com is a directory. Farms write their own listings, and we pass requests between buyers and farms. Here is what that means for what you read on the site.

Permit status is what the farm tells us

Each farm declares whether it sells under its state's small-seller exemption or holds a state permit, and its listing shows that status. "Permit on file" means the farm has uploaded a permit document. We don't inspect farms, check their flocks or verify their documents, and a listing is not a statement by us that a farm meets any law. The state's rules as we summarize them are general information, not legal advice.

Eggs are the farm's responsibility

We never handle eggs. Freshness, storage, handling and labeling are up to the farm. Ask the farm directly about how its eggs are kept, and follow safe handling at home.

Listings can be out of date

What a farm has today, its prices, delivery area and hours are whatever the farm last posted. Distances are measured from a rough spot near the farm, not its exact location, so they are approximate.

Deals are between you and the farm

Payment, pickup, delivery and any refund for eggs are agreed between the buyer and the farm. We are not a party to the sale. The Terms of Service say more.
